The Spam Act 2003 sets out your responsibilities under Australian law when sending marketing SMS to Australia. All recipients must have previously been Opted-IN to receive Marketing messages, and ONLY Clean Marketing is allowed with Opt-out mechanism in place
Spam Content:
Under the Australian SPAM Act 2003, primarily that commercial SMS messages:
- Only be sent with the consent of the recipient
- Include clear sender information (Messages must contain the name and contact details of the person or business that authorised the message [sender identification])
- Contain an unsubscribe function (to 'opt-out' or unsubscribe)
